PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incorrect connection detection method and an incorrect connection detection system capable of detecting incorrect connection of cables without carrying out a confirmation work for checking normal operation of each equipment by turning on main power supply after connection of the cables. SOLUTION: When a first equipment side connector part 11 of a first equipment 10 and a first equipment side connector part 21 of a second equipment 20 are to be connected by a cable 40, electric current is flowed from a fourth pin 11b of the first equipment side connector part 11 of the first equipment 10 to a lamp 23 through the cable 40 and a fourth pin 21b of the first equipment side connector part 21 of the second equipment 20. And by checking whether or not the lamp 23 is lighted, appropriate connection between the first equipment side connector part 11 of the first equipment 10 and the first equipment side connector part 21 of the second equipment 21 through the cable is confirmed.
