PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens of high performance and compact size. SOLUTION: The zoom lens is provided with first to fifth lens groups G1 to G5 arranged in order from the object side and having positive, negative, positive, positive, and negative refractive powerrespectively. The first lens group G1 is provided with a prism L2 for bending an optical path. Zooming is performed by focal distance control made on the basis of the linear movement of the second and fourth lens groups G2, G4 and image face position correcting operation made on the basis of the non-linear movement of the fifth lens group G5.
