PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the use of a color wheel in which the ratios of red, green and blue are respectively different without changing software for driving a mirror element. SOLUTION: Constitution provided with the mirror element 3 having fine mirrors each of which can change its reflection angle to reflection to a prescribed direction and reflection to a direction different from the prescribed direction, the color wheel 2 in which light made incident on the mirror element 3 is switched to light components corresponding to at least three primary colors and a mirror element driving part 15 for driving the mirror element 3 on the basis of the angular position of the color wheel 2 and an image signal 101 to be displayed is provided also with an angle detection part 6 for detecting the angular position of the color wheel 2 as a resistance value. The mirror element driving part 14 finds out the angular position of the color wheel 2 on the basis of the resistance value detected by the angle detection part 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
