PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core steel segment which prevents the occurrence of cracks in concrete structure containing it even if strain beyond a permissible prescribed stress strain occurs in a steel shell. SOLUTION: In the core steel segment 11, an ultra-high molecular polyethylene sheet 14 is provided as a buffer between each main beam 4 and concrete structure 3. A plurality of arc-shaped core steel segments 11 is continuously arranged circumferentially into an annular shape. The wall surface of a tunnel structure or the like is constructed by joining the opposing segment end connections 5, 5 together in the excavation direction of a tunnel-shaped vertical pit or a tunnel constructed underground, by means of the thrust forces of a jack JJ, etc. such as a shield machine S or the like.
