A pressing arm control device for a punching work of a filing machine is provided to maximize punching workability and convenience by controlling a pressing arm so that the pressing arm supporting stacked papers is automatically released from the papers at once when a drill punches the stacked papers in a punching work. The pressing arm control device includes: a mode setting key part for selecting a punch mode or punch/file mode; position detecting sensors(S1,S2,S3) for detecting respectively that a punch motor(11), a pressing arm(13), and an operation cam(53) are returned to an initial position in the punch mode; and a driving control part for controlling that the pressing arm is released by backlashing-driving a drum cam(51) if the sensor of the punch motor detects a return of the punch motor, the drum cam is returned to an original position if the sensor of the pressing arm detects return of the pressing arm, and a driving of the cam motor is stopped if the sensor of the drum cam detects return of the drum cam. |
