An apparatus for loading solid ink is provided to enhance an ink supply efficiency by making an ink stick of such a color as being high in the consumed amount to be accepted therein in case of a length of a supply channel to be differently structured. In a solid ink loading apparatus, an ink stick keeping unit includes a plurality of supply channels(161a~161d) which accepts a plurality of ink sticks(171a~171d) in accordance with a color. A cover for the ink stick keeping unit opens and shuts the ink stick keeping unit. A yoke(135) is linked to the cover for the ink stick keeping unit. A plurality of heating plates(181a~181d) mounted at one end of each of the supply channels melts the ink sticks. An elastically pressing unit(150) elastically connected to the yoke pushes the ink sticks accepted at the supply channels toward where the heating plate is mounted. The plurality of supply channels is formed to be stepped along the longitudinal direction with a predetermined difference.
