ANTISEPTIC METHOD OF FUCOIDAN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic method for fucoidan expected as an agent for cosmetics and dermatological field and a composition containing fucoidan.

SOLUTION: Fucoidan or a fucoidan composition having excellent antiseptic property and free from the viscosity lowering and discoloration for a long period can be produced by compounding fucoidan or a fucoidan composition with 0.1-10 wt.% phenoxyethanol. The first invention relates to a method for antisepsis of fucoidan or a fucoidan-containing composition by compounding 0.1-10 wt.% phenoxyethanol based on the total amount of fucoidan or fucoidan composition and the second invention relates to fucoidan or a fucoidan composition containing 0.1-10 wt.% phenoxyethanol.
