PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head and the like which can prevent a pole erasure phenomenon in a perpendicular recording system. SOLUTION: The thin film magnetic head for perpendicular magnetic recording has a coil to generate a magnetic field, and a main pole layer to make perpendicular recording by using the magnetic field generated by the above coil.
