PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of reducing the sound of a refrigerant at the start of operation by a heating cycle. SOLUTION: The air conditioner equipped with a refrigerant circuit including a compressor 10, an outdoor heat exchanger 14, a first indoor expansion valve 5a and a first indoor heat exchanger 3a, comprises a heating/air-conditioning switching mechanism 11, a receiver 16, a degassing circuit 20 and a degassing circuit opening/closing part 30. The receiver 16 is located upstream of the first indoor expansion valve 5a and downstream of the outdoor heat exchanger 14 in an air-conditioning cycle, and can store a refrigerant in a liquid state. The degassing circuit 20 is connected to the intake side of the compressor 10 from the receiver 16 and feeds the refrigerant in a gas state in the receiver 16 to the intake side of the compressor 10. In the case of starting operation by the heating cycle, a control part opens the degassing circuit opening/closing part 30 to perform refrigerant recovery control to the receiver 16 and then opening the first indoor expansion valve 5a to prevent the counterflow of the refrigerant.
