PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having a small defrosting heater capable of preventing failures, and having a defrosting heater capable of reducing costs. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator 1 provided with a cooler 6 forming a low temperature side of a refrigerating cycle operated by circulating an inflammable refrigerant, and the defrosting heater 10 defrosting the cooler 6. The defrosting heater 10 is comprised of a heating wire 11 heating by electrification, a tubular container 13 with opened end faces covering the heating wire 11, a lead wire 12 connected to a tip of the heating wire 11, and caps 14 and 15 comprised of elastic bodies blocking the end faces of the container 13 and provided with an insertion hole 14a for inserting the lead wire 12. A check valve 16 in contact with the lead wire 12, opened in an outflow direction of gas from the container 13 by a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the container 13, integrally formed with the cap 14, and diametrally reduced in a direction separating away from the container 13 is overhangingly provided on an inner wall of the insertion hole 14a.
