PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper device formed in a simple structure, having high physical strengths, easily assemblable, providing stable damper effect, and enabling a remarkable reduction in size and an opening/closing device having the damper device. SOLUTION: This damper device comprises a casing filled with a fluid and a piston slidingly moving along the inner wall of the casing. A groove part for fitting a seal member is formed in the damper device around the side surface of the piston. In particular, the groove width of the groove part is set larger than the thickness of the seal member, and the shape of the bottom part of the groove part is formed in a tapered shape along the longitudinal direction of the piston.
