TWO-PASTE TYPE GLASS IONOMER CEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste-type cement composition that permits a simple kneading operation thereby exerting no bad influences on various properties of a cement cured product depending on the differences of operators or the degree of skill to stably attain various properties while retaining adhesive properties to dentin, biocompatibility, a surface-curing property and sustained release of fluorine as characteristics inherent in conventional glass ionomer cements and reducing water-sensitivity as a defect of conventional glass ionomer cements. SOLUTION: The two-paste type glass ionomer cement comprises a resin paste comprising a hydrophobic polymerizable monomer and a polymer of an acid group-containing polymerizable monomer immiscible with each other and a water-based paste comprising a hydrophilic polymerizable monomer and water miscible with each other, where at least either one paste contains an acid-reactive filler.
