PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary valve capable of preventing powders from adhering to a blade of a rotor and a boss and growing by a simple structure without requiring running cost even if the powders have viscosity. SOLUTION: This rotary valve is provided with the rotor 2 provided with a plurality of blades 1 substantially radially in a boss part 2a and a casing 5 provided with openings 3, 4 in upper and lower parts, respectively, and incorporating the rotor 2 rotatably between these openings 3 and 4 to hold powders introduced through the opening 3 on an upper part side by rotation of the rotor 2 in the inside of a storage space partitioned by two mutually adjacent blades 1 in the rotor 2 and the casing 5 and discharge the powders through the opening 4 on a lower part side. String-like objects 9 having flexibility and wear resistance are held and attached at adequate positions in a point manner in a plurality of parts partitioned by the plurality of blades 1 in the boss part 2a of the rotor 2, respectively.
