PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster recovery technology capable of reading logs correctly even when a log write unit of a main site is large by realizing high-speed of FO by reading/applying the log which is finer than a file and re-reading of the log or reading in cooperation with remote copy in reading/applying processing of the log. SOLUTION: In the disaster recovery system comprising the main site and a sub-site, write is performed by the log block consisting of a plurality of log records in the main site. In performing log application in the sub-site, the log block is read from a sub-storage, compatibility is verified. It is decided at the time of reading the log block whether or not read processing is in competition with write processing by remote copy. According to the decision, only the log block which is decided not to be in competition is applied to a database, log application is made independently in the sub-site, and the database is recovered.
