COMMUNICATION QUALITY DETERMINING METHOD, MOBILE STATION, BASE STATION, AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

It requires a good communication quality of uplink to execute a high-rate packet communication by use of a transmission channel of a large capacity such as E-DCH. However, when a link imbalance has occurred, a mobile station cannot estimate the communication quality of the uplink from the communication quality of the downlink. Then, a path loss is determined from a set power of a common pilot channel notified from a base station and from a reception power of the common pilot channel received at the mobile station. Then, the reception power at the base station is estimated based on the path loss, and an interference power notified from the base station and the estimated reception power are used to estimate SIR at the base station, thereby determining the communication quality of the uplink.
