The actuator has a gear (28) connected to an output shaft (24) of an electric motor (20) and including a gear box having two partially cylindrical outer surfaces. A gear holder (40) surrounds the gear box and in which the box is retained so as to pivot around a swivel axis that extends parallel to the shaft. The gear holder has cylindrical partial inner surfaces respectively adapted to the outer surfaces and an attaching hole that extends parallel to the swivel axis, where the gear holder is cut from a profile part extruded in aluminum.
