Provided is a pouch type lithium secondary battery which is improved in thermal stability by allowing a PTC device to operate more rapidly according to the increase of internal temperature. The pouch type lithium secondary battery(100) comprises an electrode assembly(110) which comprises a first electrode tap(114)-adhered first electrode plate(111), a second electrode tap(115)-adhered second electrode plate(112), and a separator(113) interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a pouch exterior material(120) which has a space for accommodating the electrode assembly; a protection circuit module(130) which controls the charge/discharge of the electrode assembly and is provided with a joining pad(135); and a PTC device(150) whose one terminal is adhered to the joining pad and the other terminal is electrically connected with any one of the first electrode tap and the second electrode tap to intercept the flow of current when temperature is increased. |
