A mobile communication terminal having a background music insertion function when an image is taken and a control method thereof are provided to enhance the satisfaction of a user by offering various multimedia functions. A mobile communication terminal having a background music insertion function when an image is taken comprises an image processor(14), an audio file regenerator(28), an audio signal processor(26), a near field communication unit, and a controller(32). The image processor(14) converts image signals, captured by a camera, into digital signals, and generates image data. The audio file regenerator(28) decodes the audio file. The audio signal processor(26) receives the decoded audio file, converts the decoded audio signals into analog audio signals, outputs the analog audio signals to a speaker, receives the audio signals by using a mike, and generates audio data. The near field communication unit wirelessly receives voice signals from a user and generates voice data of the user. The controller(32), in case that capturing an image where the background music is inserted is started according to a user's selection, makes each component perform proprietary functions, and integrates the image data of the user, the voice data of the user and the audio data into one multimedia file.
