A clamping apparatus of an injection molding machine is provided to improve energy efficiency by transferring and boosting a molding unit through a single driving unit, and reduce space for installation by eliminating a hydraulic pump and a tank. A clamping apparatus comprises a first fixed template(20); a second fixed template(30) which is spaced apart from the first fixed template, and has a fixed molding unit(31); a tie bar(40) fixed on the first and second fixed templates; a movable template(50) which is movable along the tie bar, and has a movable mold unit(51); a column member(60) which is connected to one side of the movable template so that the movable template moves along the tie bar, and arranged to be movable through the first fixed template; a ball screw shaft(70) which is connected to one end of the column member so as to form a liquid pressure chamber(61), and receives power from a driving unit(80) so that the ball screw shaft is movable in forward and rearward directions; a ball nut(72) coupled to the ball screw shafts, and connected to the driving unit so that the ball nut moves the ball screw shafts by power supplied from the driving unit; a clamping cylinder(90) and a clamping piston(100) arranged in the first fixed template so as to form the liquid pressure chamber(91); and a hydraulic unit(21) for controlling communication between the liquid pressure chamber in the clamping cylinder and the liquid pressure chamber of the movable plate.
