<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a toner deficiency portion in a stripe form in a toner layer on a developing roller due to foreign matter in a developing device which has a developing roller disposed to oppose to an image carrier and has a toner regulating roller abutting and pressing the developing roller and regulating a toner amount deposited on the developing roller, and which electrostatically transfers the toner on the developing roller regulated by the toner regulating roller to an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier to visualize the electrostatic latent image into a toner image. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a foreign matter removing member 41 supported as movable between a retracting position separated from the contact part of the developing roller 19 and the toner regulating roller 25, and a foreign matter removing position set in between the developing roller 19 and the toner regulating roller 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
