<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer piezoelectric element having a high reliability capable of preventing multilayer piezoelectric units or unit stack from deforming like a bow or buckling, even when a force is applied to the multilayer piezoelectric element in a stack direction. <P>SOLUTION: A multilayer piezoelectric element 1 includes a unit stack 6 in which multilayer piezoelectric units 2 are stacked in a stacking direction. A spacer 5 for surrounding a border of the units 2 and 2 is disposed around this border. Three contact protrusions 52, which come in contact with or come closer to an inner circumferential surface 9S of a case member 9, are provided in the spacer 5, thereby positioning the unit 2 in the stack orthogonal direction VS and preventing the unit from deforming like a bow and buckling during compression. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
