PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method for obtaining a preliminary-delivery recovery operation that is exact, effective and minimum-required in a short time while maintaining the delivery function of an ink-jet head. SOLUTION: In the recovery method for judging on the number of a required preliminary delivery by measuring the rate of delivery, the preliminary-delivery recovering operation is performed with all nozzles after determining the number of the required preliminary delivery with a part of nozzles first.
