PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved breathing assisting device for delivering humidified gas to a user requiring continuous in-airway positive pressure method. SOLUTION: This breathing assisting device 100 includes: a gas delivery device 106, which supplies gas substantially at the positive average pressure. The gas delivery device has a communication port communicating with an external device, and the gas delivery device can be formed in at least two forms. The first form is in the case where the gas delivery device has a predetermined function in a first state. The second form is in the case where the gas delivery device has a predetermined function in a second state. The second form is put in the operating state by the external device.
