A method and an apparatus for storing image data of a mobile terminal in an external terminal are provided to allow a user to transmit image data captured and stored in his/her mobile terminal to a terminal device without using a cable or a mobile Internet service. A terminal device interface unit(200) is mounted at an external device connection part of a terminal device and includes a power connector and a data communication connector. A central controller(202) controls a process of transmitting an image data signal received from a mobile terminal to the terminal device. A program storage unit(204) includes control software for controlling a process of outputting the image data which has been decoded upon receiving in or to the terminal device. A mobile terminal interface unit(206) captures the image data signal transmitted from the mobile terminal.
