<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device and its control method, and a program for precisely detecting a plurality of coordinates inputted in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: When pointed positions on a coordinate input area are detected by using first and second sensor means which are disposed on the neighborhood of the both ends of one side of a coordinate input area, and are equipped with two optical units constituted of a light projecting part for projecting the rays of light to the coordinate input area and a light receiving part for receiving the incoming rays of light, angle information showing the direction of a shadow as a light shielding area is detected on the basis of light quantity distribution including the shadow to be obtained from the respective optical units disposed in the first and second sensor means respectively according to an indication by two indicating means. Then, the coordinates of the respective instructed positions of the two indicating means are calculated by using the combination of the detected angle information and the angle information of the shadow to be detected by a pair of optical units disposed in the different sensor means (1) and the combination of the detected angle information and the angle information of the shadow to be detected by a pair of optical units disposed in the same sensor means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
