PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable imaging apparatus which is equipped with a bending optical system photographing optical part, and whose main body is miniaturized without damaging the operability. SOLUTION: The main body case 3 for the digital camera 1 is divided into a fixed case 4 and a movable case 5 by a division line 2 on the front part, an image display part 13 is arranged on the rear side of the movable case 5, and a movable optical part 14 with a front lens 17 and a reflection mirror 18 for bending an incident optical axis O1 is arranged inside the movable case 5. A release button 7, a reproducing button 9, a photographing button 9 are arranged on the top face of the fixed case 4, and a jog dial 11 and a strap ring 12 are arranged on the side face of a grip part 6, and a fixed optical part 15 with an imager 19 for forming the image of the bending optical axis 02 is arranged inside the fixed case 4. When the movable case 5 moves toward the fixed case 4, the whole length is reduced and the apparatus is made in a collapsed state upon carrying, when the movable case 5 is pulled out from the fixed case 4 in a direction shown by an arrow (a), the whole apparatus is extended and made in a photographing allowable state upon photographing.
