GAS ABSORBENT, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND GAS-ABSORBING METHOD USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas absorbent having good gas-absorbing performance and causing no leaching of a polyvalent metal (A) contained in the gas absorbent into the liquid when used in a liquid. SOLUTION: The problem of leaching is solved by providing a gas absorbent consisting of a metal complex (C) composed of a polyvalent metal (A) and a polycarboxylic acid (B) of a molecular weight below 500 and coated with a polymer (D). A preferable method of manufacturing the gas absorbent comprises reacting a salt of the polyvalent metal (A) with the polycarboxylic acid (B) to form particles of the metal complex (C) and coating the surface of particles with the polymer (D).
