PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having an absorbent which is reduced in thickness and weight while keeping the absorbing capacity equal to that of a conventional absorbent, and the structure of which is not easily destroyed even when a wearing person makes a violent action. SOLUTION: This absorbent article includes the absorbent 1 composed by laminating a web 2 of hydrophilic long fibers oriented in a planar direction and the laminated layer or nonwoven fabric 4 of natural pulp and/or synthetic fibers containing or not containing a superabsorbent polymer. It is preferable that the superabsorbent polymer 3 is embedded and deposited in the web 2. The long fibers are crimped. It is preferable that the laminated body of the web 2 and the laminated layer or nonwoven fabric 4 of the synthetic fibers is covered with the sheet of a fibrous material.
