PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation imager which permits integration with a reference position for one direction in detecting the reference positions for two directions. SOLUTION: A position changing mechanism 5 changes a reference position for an X direction as one of the X direction and a Y direction as two directions to a reference position for the Y direction as the other direction. A photosensor 6 detects the reference position for the Y direction changed by the position changing mechanism 5 and detects the size of a film cassette 1 to be loaded. Consequently the reference positions can be integrated with the reference position for the Y direction as the other direction in detecting the reference positions for the two directions.
