The connector has a locking lever (3) rotatably supported on a housing, where the lever serves for joining the connector with a complementary connector. The lever is engaged in its end position in such a manner that the lever with an area gets locked in a lying position behind a latch on a cladding of the housing, where the latch is elastically connected at the housing. An elastic counter holder (7) is provided at the cladding or at the area of the lever, where the holder presses the latch against the lever.
