An estimating unit (14) estimates a noise power of the received signal. A demodulation unit for demodulating the received signal as softbits whose bitwidth is predetermined, sets a weighting of a least significant softbit based on the estimated noise power. An another estimating unit (15) estimates a signal power of the received signal and the demodulation unit sets a weighting of a most significant softbit based on the estimated signal power. An independent claim is also included for received signal processing method.
