A mobile terminal for storing image data in a PC in real time and its method are provided to allow a user to personally check how much image data can be stored from now on by informing the user about a remaining storage capacity of a PC while storing image data is being stored in the PC. A user interface unit(140) receives a storage command including select information related to a storage position of image data from a user. A transmitter/receiver(150) transmits image data received from satellite broadcasting or image data captured by a camera of a mobile terminal to a PC without storing it in a mobile terminal. If a termination signal is generated, the transmitter/receiver(150) stops transmission of the image data. When the user inputs a storage command for selecting a storage space of the PC, a controller(130) determines a remaining storage capacity of the storage space of the PC. If the remaining storage capacity is greater than the first value, the controller(130) controls the transmitter/receiver(150) to transmit the image data to the PC. When the remaining storage capacity of the storage space of the PC reaches the second value as the image data is transmitted to the PC, the controller(130) generates a termination signal.
