PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid body imaging apparatus capable of expanding the dynamic range of the light detection with respect to incident light intensity, and restraining dispersion of light detection characteristics on each pixel. SOLUTION: The solid body imaging apparatus performs charge accumulation for accumulating electric charges in a photodiode 1, in a state of an intermediate potential between an on potential and an off potential being applied to the gate of a transfer transistor 2. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain a linear conversion type having a high sensitivity in a small light amount region and a logarithmic conversion type, having a wide dynamic range in a large light amount region. Also, by controlling the drive condition (the intermediate potential to be applied to the gate) for the transfer transistor 2 in a controller 11, it is possible to adjust the ratio between the linear conversion type region and the logarithmic conversion type region.
