PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disc recording apparatus capable of realizing control with a conventional NLE having control functions for DV devices and easily recording the contents generated by NEL on an optical disc. SOLUTION: An Imaginary Mode generating part 24 generates virtual mode, based on the control command from a nonlinear editing unit 1. An Imaginary TTC generating part 28 and an Imaginary ATN generating part 29 generate a virtual time code and virtual absolute track number that correspond to the virtual mode. A virtual mode, virtual time code, and virtual absolute track number are outputted corresponding to a status sense command from the nonlinear editing unit 1. When the virtual mode is of recording system, a video audio signal is inputted from the nonlinear editor 1 for recording on the optical disc; and when the virtual mode is a reproduction system, a pseudo-reproduction signal is outputted to the nonlinear editing unit 1.
