PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a relative positional deviation between a cartridge and a traverse mechanism even if a cartridge positioning reference is different from a traverse positioning reference. SOLUTION: A disk device is provided with; a base member (20) which is supported by a housing (10) via a buffer member (42) having a through hole (43); rotation means (21 and 22) which mount a disk (2) and rotate the disk; a recording and reproducing means (23) which records information to the disk (2) and reproduces the information from the disk (2); a conveying means (30) which holds a cartridge (3) accommodating the disk (2) and conveys the cartridge from the outside of the device to a recording/reproducing position at which the disk (2) is mounted on the rotation means; and a positioning member (40) which positions the cartridge (3) at the recording/reproducing position. The positioning member (40) is erected in the housing (10), and the positioning member (40) is passed through the through hole (41) to mount the base member (20) on the positioning member (40) via the buffer member (42).
