PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a continuous capacity change by a single control mechanism, in a scroll machine. SOLUTION: The relative movement is provided in the axial direction or the radial direction of both scroll members, and a load of the machine is released by releasing sealing of a fluid pocket between both scroll blades. This scroll compressor has: a capacity adjusting device for imparting a signal for indicating capacity reduction; and a motor controller for improving efficiency of a motor while reducing capacity of a compressor by changing an operation parameter of the motor in response to the signal from the capacity adjusting device.
