PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a level of lubricating oil in a simple structure by fixing to a lower shell of a compressor an oil level detecting device in which two resistance temperature sensors arranged in liquid and gas sandwiching an oil level are integrated so as to lead a power feeder and a signal wire thereof to the outside through an insulation terminal provided to the lower shell. SOLUTION: A liquid level detecting device 13 for a liquid level of lubricating oil held in a sealed electric compressor is provided to a lower shell 8 of a compressor. In a liquid level detecting device, two temperature detecting elements are integrally mounted so as to be arranged in liquid and gas on a boundary surface. A power feeding part and a signal wire of the liquid level detecting device is connected to a dedicated terminal provided to the lower shell to be led to the outside. By so doing, the compressor can accurately detect an oil surface level and stably feed lubricating oil to a compressing mechanism part. In addition, function can be easily added by collectively arranging in the lower shell the oil surface detecting device and the insulating terminals for leading the power feeder and signal wire thereto to the outside.
