PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost movable member holding structure of simple structure capable of holding a movable member such as a door with large magnetic force in the case of fitting the movable member to a fixed member, and capable of holding the movable member such as a door with small force in the case of separating the movable member from the fixed member. SOLUTION: In the case of fitting a paper feeding cassette 1 to a stay 20, a metal plate 34 is adsorbed to an attraction surface 33a of a magnet 33 over the whole surface, and the paper feeding cassette 1 is surely fitted to the stay 20 by large magnetic force. When separating the paper feeding cassette 1 from the stay 20, the metal plate 34 is bent for deformation by a lever 40, and a contact area between the metal plate 34 and the magnet 33 is gradually reduced to gradually reduce the magnetic force (attracting force) to be applied between the magnet 33 and the metal plate 34. With this structure, in comparison with the case of separating the metal plate 34, which is brought in contact with the magnet 33 over the whole surface thereof, at once, the paper feeding cassette 1 can be separated from the stay 20 by remarkably smaller force.
