PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding container having a structure folded under the state in which two side plates are being overlapped with each other to enable the side plates folded in advance to be turned smoothly and raised up to their assembled position. SOLUTION: Both a hinge pin and guide pin are protruded at the lower end of a side plate (a long-side side plate 13), and a side plate pivoting protrusion piece vertically arranged at a bottom plate is provided with a hinge guide groove for use in guiding the hinge pin and a slant guide surface for restricting a motion of the guide pin toward an inside part of a container. A space in a horizontal direction between the container outside guide surface and the slant guide surface of the hinge guide groove is formed in such a way that it is gradually widened from a lower side toward an upper side. When the long-side side plate 13 is raised, the hinge pin is guided by the hinge guide groove and at the same time the guide pin is guided by the slant guide surface, thereby the long-side side plate 13 is turned smoothly and becomes an upright state.
