INSPECTION EQUIPMENT EMPLOYING MAGNETIC RESONANCE

An MRI system in which an arbitrary direction can be selected as a phase encoding direction and excellent S/N can be achieved when a photography time shortening technology is applied. The vertical magnetic field MRI system employs a receiving coil combining a first coil (solenoid coil)(3-1) forming a current loop on the outer circumference of a subject, second coils (5-1, 5-2) forming even number of current loops in a direction intersecting the current loop surface, and third coils (7-1, 7-2) forming odd number of current loops. The second and third coils are arranged such that each of the current loops is arranged to have the position where the sensitivity of one coil is minimized substantially match the position where the sensitivity of the other coil is maximized, in the arrangement direction, so that electromagnetic coupling is suppressed.
