<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a recording and reproducing device display information, such as the video and the BGM of a television program, and the name of the title and the name of the artist of the BGM of the television program, etc., simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: A music data detecting part 202 detects the starting time and the completion time of music data included in broadcast data supplied from a broadcast data holding part 201. When the starting time of the musical data is detected, music information corresponding to the music data is acquired from a music information holding server 800. Information which makes the music information, the music data and the broadcast data to be related mutually is generated in a related information generating part 204 to be held in a related information holding part 205.
