<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain power saving of a GPS receiver and to receive GPS signals with the GPS receiver without instantaneous interruption of communication in switching of communication frequency of the mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal M comprises a power supply controller 3 controlling the supply of power to the GPS receiver 1 acquiring position information by receiving GPS signals, a memory 7 storing the communication frequency and communication area boundary information allotted to every base station and a set value of maximum moving velocity of the mobile terminal M, and an arithmetic part 8 for obtaining the shortest distance of the communication area boundary between the position of the mobile terminal M and the base station from the position information and the communication area boundary information and operating a power supply limit time for limiting the supply of power tot he GPS receiver 1 from the shortest distance and the maximum moving velocity.
