PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid seal position adjusting device having excellent responsiveness to control and capable of controlling vibration developed on the rotating shafts of wheels, pulleys, and robot arms with a less installation space. SOLUTION: An elastic member 4 is deflected by the deviation of a supporting fitting 2 downward, and a rigid plate 7 is slidingly moved downward. When a magnetic viscous fluid MR flows from a first chamber R1 to a second chamber R2 through an orifice 7a, the flow of the fluid through an orifice 7a and communication passages (passages 9a, 9b) is restricted by magnetizing a first electromagnetic solenoid 11. On the other hand, a movable member 9 is moved upward together with the rigid plate 7 through a repulsion produced between the movable member and a permanent magnet 6 by magnetizing a second electromagnetic solenoid 12.
