PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of expediting smooth proceedings of an electronic conference held by tying a plurality of points, even when there is no chairperson. SOLUTION: An electronic conference system catches pause of utterance to display utterance desirable information. For example, supposing that utterers A 74 and B 76 enter utterance entry (S2, S8) in the midst of voiced states 64, 68 of an utterer voice signal 62 of an utterer 58 who makes utterance, while displaying a slide on a shared screen display 52, then a pause of the utterance of the utterer 58 is discriminated, when the voice state 64 is intermitted and a silence state 66 continues for a prescribed time; and a popup display of "presence of utterance by the utterer A" is applied to the shared screen (S4) in reply to the input by the utterer A 74. Furthermore, the pause of the utterance of the utterer 58 is discriminated by a slide feed operation by the utterer 58 (S9), and a popup display of "presence of utterance by the utterer B" is applied to the shared screen (S4), in reply to the entry by the utterer B, without feeding slide (S10).
