PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of lengthening an optical path length, capable of enhancing sensitivity, and capable of compacting a device. SOLUTION: This gas sensor has a light source 3 for emitting light, a photoreception element 4 for receiving the light, a light guide 2 with an inner wall formed of a mirror for shielding external light to guide the light emitted from the light source 3, a light source side light guide 21 for guiding the light emitted from the light source 3 to the light guide 2, and a photoreception element side light guide 22 for guiding the light from the light guide 2 to the photoreception element 4, the gas sensor is provided with the mirror 5 for reflecting the light emitted from the light source 3 and transmitted from the light source side light guide 21 through the light guide 2, and the light reflected by the mirror 5 is transmitted again reverse-directionally through the light guide 2 to be received through the photoreception element side light guide 22, by the photoreception element 4.
