PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce protection of patient information with a simple structure and control and to facilitate the input of information inherent to the user. SOLUTION: A medical diagnostic apparatus comprises a password controlling means 65 holding an active password and at least one password to be effective after a specific period of time and updating the active password with the next password after the specific period of time; a password storing means 65 storing the active password 67A effective at the moment and at least one password 67B following the active password to a USB memory by mounting an outside USB memory 90 on this apparatus 200 via a connector; and a controlling means allowing a specific program to be implemented when a match is made between the active password of the instrument and one of a plurality of passwords read out of the USB memory when the specific program is implemented.
