PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of equipment, miniaturize an apparatus and use an illumination light according to purposes such as a regular observation and a special observation. SOLUTION: This endoscope apparatus is disposed with a laser light source 12 emitting a specific wavelength light, first and second optical paths 16 and 17 guiding the light emitted from the laser light source to the distal end of the endoscope insertion tube 5, an optical path switching means 15 selectively switching the light emitted from the laser light source to either of the first optical path or the second optical path, and a phosphor 11 excited by the light passing through the first optical path to emit fluorescence, at the insertion tube distal end of the endoscope in the first optical path.
