The carrier element (1) for the biological cleaning of waste water in a clarifier, in which the elements are held without supply of oxygen or under supply of air and/or oxygen in an intermittently swirled state of suspension. Openings (13) have a diameter of 1/20 D-1/10 D and are radially arranged in equal distances at an angle of 120[deg] to each other and close to the rotational symmetry axle of the hemispherical shell (10). The shell of the carrier element has a diameter (D) of 25-40 mu m. Bars (3) are formed on meridian lines of the hemispherical shell. The carrier element in which inner-lying lamellae (21, 22) are arranged equiangular to the axle and formed on the shell and are close to the axle to form a lamella-free internal area around the axle. The lamella ends in the circumferential direction in a larger radial distance to the axle than the respectively neighboring lamella. The larger radial distance is 0.5 D-0.75 D and the smaller radial distance is 0.25 D-0.5 D. The neighboring lamellae exhibit a minimum distance of 1 mm to the internal area between themselves. The lamellae and the bars are formed congruently to each other at the hemispherical shell. The carrier element has a specific surface per pouring volume of 500-750 m 2>/m 3> and polyethylene with a gross density of 0.95 g/cm 3>.
|
