A communication device, a communication system and a communication parameter setting method of the communication device are provided to solve a problem that when a DSC(Digital Still Camera) and a printer are erroneously connected, an SSID(Service Set Identifier) and a password key are set in the DSC to cover original valid SSID and password key stored in the DSC against user's intention. A device capability attribute about the set of a communication parameter and providing attribute information indicating whether a terminal can provide a communication parameter to a different terminal are stored in a memory. A communication terminal whose device capability attribute can provide a communication parameter is selected as a providing device. If a plurality of terminal have the device capability attribute that can provide the communication parameter, a communication terminal whose device capability attribute can provide only the communication parameter is preferentially selected as a providing device. When a plurality of communication terminals have the same device capability attribute, a communication terminal having providing attribute information indicating a state for being able to provide a communication parameter is selected as a providing device.
