Provided are a secondary battery which does not uses a PP case and a projection formed at a can and is improved in battery capacity, and a method for preparing a secondary battery. The secondary battery(100) comprises a jelly-roll type electrode plate assembly which comprises a first electrode plate, a separator and a second electrode plate; a can(120) which has an aperture at one side for accommodating the electrode plate assembly, and has at least one beading part(125) formed between the outer circumference of the electrode plate assembly and the aperture for preventing the flowing of the electrode plate assembly after accommodation; and a cap plate(130) which is received in and fixed to the beading part of the can. |
